Buyers Q & A
Q. How do I shop with Cow-op?
A. If you have never shopped on Cow-op.ca before, you will first have to create a customer account. Click Cow-op.ca Online Market to sign up. Be sure to add your delivery address (if applicable), choose your location and add your payment information. Once you have made an account, login and head over to the shop page. Add products to your virtual shopping cart by clicking the “Add to order” button. Browse products and fill your cart any time between Thursday morning and Monday at midnight. To finish, click on the little shopping cart icon at the top right-hand side of the shop page, and hit “Review and Confirm Order”. Confirming your order is the final step. We’ll take it from there!
Q. I have a discount/promo code for my order. How do I redeem this discount?
A. Click on the “have a gift certificate or promo code” box on your order. Enter the discount/promo code in the promo code box. Click redeem. You will notice a “discount” was applied above your order total.
Q. Is all your produce certified organic?
A. We are an online farmers’ market made up of a variety of sellers practicing a variety of production methods. Cow-op vets producers at the time of application to ensure a certain level of sustainability but we do not act as a certifying body and encourage buyers to read up on each seller’s bio and contact the seller directly if there are any questions about their production methods. Any certified organic growers are labelled as such on their listings. Under new provincial regulations, all other sellers are prohibited from using the term “organic” to describe their food or practices, unless they are certified.
Q. What happens if something in my order is damaged and can’t be consumed?
A. Our Market Manager and pick-up day team will inspect and pack all orders prior to pick up or delivery. In the event that anything gets damaged, we will refund that portion to the customer, provided the unacceptable goods are reported upon pick up or delivery. More info here.
Q. What happens if I can’t pick up my order?
A. The Cow-op will donate your item(s) to the local Food Bank or Soup Kitchen if you forget to pick up your order.
