Every year Cow-op proudly sponsor a two paged spread in the Cowichan Valley Voice October issue that spotlights our cooperative members! This feature is a aptly called “50km Local Food Diet“. This feature is a call to action to redirect our collective buying power as a community to our local farmers, food producers and food processors around the holidays, starting with Thanksgiving! You can be a true locavore by sourcing your holiday meal ingredients from Cowichan Valley producers! Farm raised turkey, chicken, beef and pork, seasonal fruits and vegetables, artisan baked goods and desserts!
As a community, we have a huge say in where our dollars go – and supporting local makes a big difference to the people that live and work right here in our community.
This sponsorship feature in the Cowichan Valley Voice is just one of many ways that Cow-op works to support and highlight the businesses for our cooperative members of our non-profit online farmer’s market!
